The Cervantes 2001 Project

Project Director: Dr. Eduardo Urbina

The Cervantes 2001 Project, housed at Texas A&M University, is a joint collaboration of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, the Centro de Estudios Cervantinos, and the Center for the Study of Digital Libraries (CSDL), part of the Engineering Program at Texas A&M, and Dr. Fred Jehle of Indiana-Purdue University. Its goals are: 1) to develop and publish in print and as an electronic database the Cervantes International Bibliography Online and the Anuario Bibliográfico Cervantino, the first comprehensive bibliographies of studies, editions, and translations of Cervantes's works; 2) to publish an electronic edition of Cervantes's complete works based on R. Schevill and A. Bonilla's critical edition, with a full-text search engine; and 3) to develop a digital archive of photographic images on Cervantes's times and works suitable for teaching and research purposes.
