Commentary | Two scenes in the same plate.
In the foreground, Sancho being blanketed by the innkeeper Juan Palomeque and other men; don Quixote, mounted on Rocinante, observes the scene from behind the inn wall, unable to help Sancho. In the background, don Quixote attacking a flock of sheep; Sancho observes him. Drawing, shading and engraving are excellent; detailed figures and setting; good gestures and expressions; remarkable style. |
