| Commentary | Good example of the kind of scenes chosen by Oldfield and Vanderbank to be represented.
Previously (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657 and Amberes: Verdussen, 1672 - 1673), don Quixote had been represented fighting with the soldiers and stoned by the galley slaves; now, none of these scenes interest them. Don Quixote appears talking to the galley slaves (dialogue). Idealized image of the slaves, as "good savages".
