Commentary | Well-known scene; don Quixote talks to the Knight of the Mirrors (Sansón Carrasco) after having defeated him.
This is the only illustration in which don Quixote does not appears in a ridiculous way, but with dignity. The humorousness of the scene lies in the squires; Sancho frightened and Tomé Cecial still disguised with the big false nose (he looks like a buffoon). Drawing is lightly clumsy and the engraving very marked for the figures of the knights. |
