Two different scenes in the same plate (archaic):
In the background, the first one: don Quixote attacking the windmills.
On the right, two Benedictine monks on their mules.
In the foreground, the second one: don Quixote fights with the Basque, while a Basque lady observes them from her carriage.
The Basque holding a shield (?) is not accurate to Cervantes' text; it should be a cushion.
Drawing and engraving are acceptable, but simple and poor. |
