Commentary Micomicona (Dorotea) kneels down before don Quixote accompanied by the barber disguised as her squire.
Well-known scene and composition since Coypel (Paris: Surugue, 1724).
Print with little novelty in content but with good drawing and engraving.
Dorotea's beauty and detailed face are remarkable.
Also Sancho (with suspicious looking).
Notes 1 - Same plate first used for Paris: Chez. Ant. Aug. Renouard, 1820; good copy after Robert Smirke's illustration for London: Cadell & Davies, 1818; Coupé eliminated the priest and Cardenio.
2 - In tome II, bound with tome I in volume I.
