Commentary Well-known scene since Coypel (Paris: Surugue, c. 1734) and Vanderbank (London: Tonson, 1738); now, without too much novelty.
In the foreground, next to a stream, Dorotea washing her feet and "combing" her hair.
From the right, the priest, the barber and Cardenio appear, surprising her.
Poor engraving.
Notes 1 - Same wooden-block first engraved for Exeter: J. & B. Williams, 1827-28, and 1843.
2 - Placed as #2 frontis.
