Commentary At the inn, after drinking Fierabrás' balsam, Sancho becomes sick and starts retching; don Quixote justifies it saying that it happens because Sancho is not knighted.
Very original image; resolved with good realism and humour.
In the background, the innkeeper Juan Palomeque and his daughter(?) covering her nose.
Well-drawn and engraved figures in the foreground; the ones in the background sketched.
Notes 1 - Same illustration first appeared in Tours: A. Mame, 1848.
2 - Title supplied after 1848 edition.
