Commentary | In the background, don Quixote galloping on Rocinante and attacking a flock of sheep.
In the foreground, Sancho mounted on his donkey and observing the scene. Notice Houghton's characteristic style in the wavy long lines of the dust clouds. Well-known scene, but Houghton has resolved his composition with novelty. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
