Commentary | The barber, wearing a basin on his head (Mambrino's helmet), throws himself from his mule on the ground to avoid don Quixote's attack.
Sancho observes the scene mounted on his donkey. In Cervantes' text it is said: "y en esto comenzó a llover un poco" (21:1); Houghton has increased that rain, creating a good aesthetic effect. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
