Commentary At Duke's palace, don Quixote is served by some Duchess' maidens, who disarm him; also Sancho with another maiden.
Illustration of excellent quality; drawing and engraving are masterly; remarkable shading too; see the figures of the maidens and don Quixote, their gestures, expressions, details in clothes, setting...
Notes 1 - Copied after Antonio Gisbert's painting; exhibited at the National Exposition of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1871.
2 - R. Milliet also engraved this painting for La Ilustración Española y Americana, nº 34, dec. 5, 1871.
3 - Placed in chapter 32:2 (washing beards episode), but the illustration refers to don Quixote being disarmed by Duchess' maidens.
