Commentary | The Duke and Duchess trying to help don Quixote catching the cat that is scratching his face.
Notice some details accurate to Cervantes' text: the rope with bells used by the maidens to put the cats into don Quixote's room. Drawing and engraving are quite good; don Quixote's gesture and expression is well-resolved. |
Notes | 1 - Río y Rico reads the engraver's signature as "Cabot", but it should be read as "Caba".
2 - Engraved in the same wooden block that "... ESTARÉ YO SEGURO DE SER ACOMETIDO Y FORZADO...". |
