Commentary In the foreground, don Quixote attacking the flock of sheep; notice his mad expression (eyes); remarkable representation riding Rocinante towards the viewer.
In the background, Sancho, trying to convince don Quixote of the reality, and the shepherds, preparing their slings.
Masterly drawing and engraving; notice details, expressions, movement...
Remarkable and highly-detailed ornamental frame; it includes references to don Quixote's description of the two armies: Laurcalco's shield and helmet with a crowned lion and coat of arms with a bridge, Micocolembo's shield with three silver crowns, Timonel of Carcassonne's shield with "MIOU" (Miau) and coat of arms divided in four quarters; also a winged helmet and a shield with four cats.
