Commentary | Well-known scene; Princess Micomicona (Dorotea) kneels down before don Quixote asking for his help while he tries to make her stand up. Also Sancho, trying to convince don Quixote to help the Princess, and the barber disguised as Micomicona's page with a beard (oxtail).
In the background, the priest and Cardenio hidden. The whole scene is quite similar to Antonio Carnicero's illustration for Madrid: Ibarra, 1780. Drawing and engraving are acceptable, but some details are not too good (notice Micomicona's head). |
