Commentary | Don Quixote arrives at home into a cage on an oxcart; the cage has been drawn open to show don Quixote's figure complete. His portrait is quite remarkable (notice his expression and eyes).
Meanwhile, Sancho is welcome by his wife and daughter, and the priest and barber salute to the niece and housekeeper, who appears gesticulating. Some children appear to see don Quixote too. Drawing and engraving are acceptable, but the whole composition is too much "prepared". |
