Commentary Excellent copy after Schrödter's illustration (Altona: G. Mayer, 1863; also in Stuttgart: J. Hoffman, c. 1875; and Koln: H. and F. Schaffstein, c. 1905).
One of the most remarkable visions of don Quixote. Furnó has copied quite well the expression designed by Schrödter.
The indication "COPIA DE FOTOA." means that Furnó made his engraving from a photographical reproduction.
Notes 1 - The scene corresponds to chapter 1, part I, but the illustration has been place between the titlepage and the chapter 1 of the second part. It has been rightly placed according to the "pauta para la colocación de las láminas" that appears at the end of the volume.
