Commentary | While don Quixote and Sancho sleep in Sierra Morena, Ginés de Pasamonte steals his donkey.
The black and white engraving contrasts are quite remarkable. Balaca does not follow the traditional way of representing this episode (as described by Sancho in the second part of the novel). Here, Sancho appears sleeping over the grass, not on his saddle and four branches. |
