Pellicer has not choosen the well-known moment (and more represented) when Sancho introduces don Quixote to the Duchess. This is the later instant when the Duke's servants are helping don Quixote to stand up (he has fallen down because Sancho, who has also fallen from his donkey, has not arrived to help him to dismount).
This moment is funnier, but Pellicer has represented it almost as a genre scene (notice the boy in the foreground with a sickle).
Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
