Accurate to Cervantes' text, when don Quixote enters into the palace courtyard two damsels throw over his shoulders a large mantle of the finest scarlet cloth. At the same time, several servants cheer from the galleries.
Notice that the Duke and Duchess' figures are influenced by Velázquez' paintings. Also the page in the foreground, holding don Quixote's helmet, reminds 17th century Spanish painting. |
