Commentary | Pellicer has illustrated three moments of the same episode. In this second illustration (first in the time), don Quixote and doña Rodríguez frighten each other as if they were ghosts. Among the three scenes, this is the best-known and most represented.
The light effects created by doña Rodríguez' candle are quite interesting; the cromolithography has reproduced the different color variations well. |
Notes | 1 - It has been used a variety of chromolithography known as oleography to imitate an oil painting. |
