Commentary | Pellicer has illustrated two moments of this episode; this second one, when don Quixote lies defeated by the Knight of the White Moon in Barcelona beach, has been more represented in previous editions (since Dordrecht: Savery, 1657), so it is less original.
The representation of the Knight of the White Moon is quite remarkable. Notice some picturesque details as the traditional boats and fishermen in the background. |
Notes | 1 - It has been used a variety of chromolithography known as oleography to imitate an oil painting. |
