| Commentary | At Juan Palomeque's inn, don Quixote preparing Fierabrás' balsam; Sancho, the innkeeper and an officer of the Holy Brotherhood (cuadrillero) observe him.
Scene represented in the very instant when don Quixote blesses the oil-bottle (flask) with some paternosters, ave-marias, credos and salves, accompanying each word with a cross by way of benediction. Drawing, shading and engraving are excellent; very remarkable use of light and shadow effects. |
