Commentary The scene is well-known; Dorotea keels down before don Quixote introducing herself as the Princess Micomicona; Sancho and the barber, disguised with a beard, oberve them.
However, this print is quite remarkable because of its marked white and black contrasts; drawing is agile and free, without stopping in too many details.
Notes 1 - Same copy after Gilbert's illustration (London: Charles Daly, 1842 and London: Bohn, 1842) first published in London: Appleton, 1853.
