Commentary Despite the title caption, the scene represents Alonso Quijano still alive and sane (his arms hanged on the wall) talking to Sancho (grief-stricken), the priest, the barber, the bachelor Sansón Carrasco, the housekeeper and the niece.
Excellent drawing and engraving; remarkable image of don Quixote, carefully-etched (highlighted in white on a black background), and detailed and realistic setting.
Notes 1 - Photo-etching after Edinburgh: W. Paterson, 1879-84 (and later editions).
