Commentary Dorotea, washing her feet in a stream, is discovered by the priest, the barber and Cardenio.
This scene will be habitual in future editions.
Dorotea could never be confused with a man (as it is said in Cervantes' text); she has been represented in woman clothes and showing her bosom.
Bucolic setting; well-detailed nature.
Drawing and engraving are excellent.
Notes 1 - Same plate used for London: Tonson, 1738.
2 - The original vol. and p. reference has been erased and re-engraved; notice the erased "I".
