Commentary This scene was first represented by Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657); now the compostion has been partially changed.
The three peasant girls, mounted on their donkeys, and Sancho, holding the reins of Dulcinea's donkey, form an independent group on the left.
Don Quixote remains knelt down on the right.
The figures of the three peasant girls have been drawn with realism.
Drawing and engraving are excellent.
Notes 1 - Same plate used for London: Tonson, 1738.
