Commentary In the courtyard of the Duke´s palace (well-detailed architecture), don Quixote has "defeated" Tosilos; when the lackey, decided to marry doña Rodríguez' daughter, takes off his helmet, both women discover the deceit (Tosilos is not the man who abandoned doña Rodríguez's daughter), but don Quixote explains that an enchanter has transformed his face and advises her to marry him.
Notice how this dialogue has been expressed through the gestures (hands).
The Duke and Duchess observe the scene from the gallery in the background.
Drawing and engraving are excellent.
Notes 1 - Same plate used for London: Tonson, 1738.
