Commentary | Usually-represented episode in 18th century editions (Dorotea washing her feet), but Chodowiecki has chosen a not so usual instant: Dorotea runs away when the priest, the barber and Cardenio surprise her.
Dorotea's movement is well-resolved (hair, clothes...). Bucolic setting. |
