Commentary After his first sally, don Quixote, on Pedro Alonso's mule, returns at home.
The housekeeper, his niece and the priest (or the barber) receive them. Rocinante carries don Quixote's arms.
Monumental figures, well-drawn and engraved, influenced by Vanderbank and Van der Gucht's styles.
Detailed setting that shows English liking for the picturesque.
Notes 1 - This episode was not represented in London: Tonson, 1738.
