Commentary | Sancho sat upset at an empty table while Pedro Recio orders one servant to take away the dishes.
Scene resolved with more austerity than in French illustrations. Conventional composition. As in the previous illustration, austere background arquitecture; now, there is one allegory of Justice, reference to Sancho's good government. See central female figure, of great beauty in drawing and engraving. |
Notes | 1 - This episode was also represented by Vanderbank in London: Tonson, 1738, but in a different way. |
