Commentary | Well-known scene since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657).
Don Quixote attacks Maese Pedro's theater before an astonished public and Sancho. Accurate details (Maese Pedro's patch, his servant holding a wand to tell the story...). Some details (lamp) are copied from Coypel (Paris: Surugue, 1724). Drawing and engraving are quite poor. |
