Commentary At the inn, don Quixote makes a speech about arms and letters before Sancho, don Fernando? and Dorotea?.
Simple drawing and clumsy engraving; notice the impossible architecture.
Notes 1 – Same wooden block first cut for Barcelona: Juan Jolis, 1755, copied after Madrid: Antonio Sanz, 1735, badly copied after Diego de Obregón’s illustration (Madrid: Andrés García de la Iglesia, 1674).
2 - This illustration was engraved to represent "Don Quixote and the ecclesiastic with the Duke and Duchess" (32:2), but it has been used for this chapter too (38:1).
