Commentary In the foreground, princess Micomicona (Dorotea) kneels before don Quixote, who tries to make her stand up, while Sancho introduces her to the knight; also the barber disguised with a beard as her squire.
In the background, the priest and Cardenio "hidden".
Typified composition in 18th century editions.
Don Quixote's arms remain hanged on a tree (reference to his previous penance).
Acceptable engraving, but with deficiencies. 
Notes 1 - Turned copy after Hayman's illustration for London: Millar, 1755; the figure of a man on the right in Hayman's illustration has not been copied, making the illustration more accurate to Cervantes' text.
