Commentary | In the center of the composition, don Quixote driving his sword into an enormous wild boar surrounded by hunting dogs.
In the background, the Duke embracing the Duchess. In the foreground, but just in one side, the humorous part: Sancho flees away climbing up a tree. Despite some light faults, drawing and engraving are quite remarkable. |
Notes | 1 - Good copy in a reduced size after Fokke's plate with Coypel's design for La Haye: P. de Hondt, 1746.
