Commentary In the foreground, don Quixote and Sancho kneel down before one peasant girl introduced by Sancho as the enchanted Dulcinea; also two more peasant girls.
Drawing and engraving are simple and poor.

2 – Inverted copy after Bouttats' illustration for Amberes: Verdussen, 1672-73; the scene in the background (while fleeing away one of the peasant girls falls from her donkey) has not been copied.
