Commentary | Sancho, in Turkish clothes, is taken over shoulders through Barataria Island streets; people observe him from windows, stairs, walls, towers and balconies.
Well-created composition and carefully-designed and detailed architecture. Drawing and engraving are acceptable as a whole, but the figures are not well-detailed. |
Notes | 1 - Copy of Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1728-30) through Tanjé's copy (La Haye: Hondt, 1746). Both 1746 and 1777 copies with the same vertical format. Both c. 1728 and 1777 illustrations with the same composition; in 1746 it is turned.
2 - In Cushing's copy, tomes III and IV are bound together (volume II). |
