| Commentary | Great and theatrical setting (Sancho is highlighted between two columns and before one curtain).
Perfectly-balanced composition. In the center, Sancho with the secretary and the steward. At each side, one group of characters (one with the accused and other with the accusing man). The stolen coins have just been discovered into a walking stick; Sancho looks at the accused man (left) out of the corner of his eye. Good drawing and engraving as a whole, but figures are not well detailed. |
| Notes | 1 - Copy of Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1731-43) through Jacob van der Schley's copy (La Haye: Hondt, 1746). Both 1746 and 1777 copies with the same vertical format. Both Coypel's and 1777 illustrations with the same composition; in 1746 it is turned.
