Commentary In the foreground, don Quixote and Sancho blindfolded and mounted on Clavileño; several Duke's servants pretend its flight with torches and bellows.
In the background, the Duke, Duchess and the veiled "dueñas".
French setting that reminds Coypel's style.
Drawing and engraving are quite acceptable; good light and shadow effects.
Notes 1 - The original edition didn't include any chapter illustration.
2 - Illustration taken and included from the German edition of the Calender (Berlin: 1771).
3 - Printed on China paper.
