Commentary Typified composition in 18th century editions.
In the foreground, Micomicona (Dorotea) kneels down before don Quixote, who tries to prevent her from doing it, while Sancho introduces her to the knight; also the barber disguised with a beard as her squire.
In the background, the priest and Cardenio are "hidden".
Don Quixote's arms remain on a tree (reference to his previous penance).
Drawing and engraving are acceptable as a whole, but deficient in some details. 
Notes 1 – Copy after Hayman’s illustration for London: Millar, 1755; a figure that appeared on the right has not been copied, so now the illustration is more accurate to Cervantes' text.
