Commentary Don Quixote seizes Maritornes fast while the muleteer hits him; Sancho remains asleep.
Notice Maritornes' gesture; she has just noticed that the innkeeper is arriving with a lamp.
Some figures have been drawn and engraved better than others; Maritornes is very remarkable (as a Venus/Diana/Susanna after Tiziano or Rubens, but not accurate to Cervantes' description); Sancho's figure is quite clumsy.
