Commentary In Sierra Morena, before Sancho leaves for El Toboso (village represented in the background?), don Quixote does some somersaults as love penance.
Sancho, accurate to Cervantes' text, mounted on Rocinante and with a broom bunch.
Don Quixote's arms remain hanged from a tree.
Simple drawing and rough engraving.
Notes 1 – Poor copy after Diego de Obregón’s illustration (Madrid: Andrés García de la Iglesia, 1674).
2 - Well-known since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657).
