| Commentary | Sancho, before leaving Barataria Island, says farewell to the secretary(?); also two men hidden behind a column.
The illustration is a very free interpretation of Cervantes' text; maybe, it has been re-used from a different novel. Ornamental frame with good decorative effect. Good and detailed setting, but the illustration is quite un-accurate. |

The plate is not signed either by the illustrator or by the engraver, but Río y Rico attributes it to Riley and Scott, who sign the frontispiece. The engraver and illustrator's signatures seem to be erased. It is dated on February 22, 1794. |
