Commentary | Don Quixote and Sancho encounter two shepherdesses that recognize them.
Smirke has not chosen the instant when don Quixote tries to break the nets (they haven't even been represented), but the later dialogue. The figures of the shepherdesses are of great beauty; don Quixote's serious face is remarkable. Excellent engraving. |
