Commentary | Don Quixote, proud, raises Mambrino's helmet (a barber basin), while Sancho observes him smiling.
Smirke didn't include the traditional image of the barber fleeing away in the background. Don Quixote and Sancho's figures are excellent, perfect portraits; masterly engraving and shading. |
