Commentary | Don Quixote remains alone in Sierra Morena, sat on a rock and thoughtful; a kind of image in keeping with Romanticism liking. However, this figure is not excessively Romantic; compare with the representation of this scene by Smirke (London: Cadell & Davies, 1818). |
