Commentary In the inn courtyard, don Quixote is knighted by the innkeeper, who holds a sword and one book.
On the right, doña Tolosa, holding don Quixote's sword, and doña Molinera, holding a shield (it should be a pair of spurs); also the boy holding a candle (accurate to Cervantes' text).
The other women have not been taken from the text.
Notes 1 - Same plate first engraved for Paris: Compagnie des Libraires, 1732, but re-engraved very clumsily and with little detail.
2 - Turned copy with a new vertical format after Coypel’s illustration (Paris: Surugue, 1724).
