Commentary | In the center of the composition, don Quixote embraces Sancho before the squire leaves for Barataria Island.
On the left, the Duke and servants. On the right, the Duchess and servants with Sancho's donkey. Theatrical and well-balanced composition; court scene suitable to Coypel's style (Ionic columns gallery, detailed architectures, fountains, rich clothes...). Poor engraving, but acceptable. |
