Commentary | Well-known scene since Coypel (Paris: Surugue, c. 1726); don Quixote and Sancho remain asleep (don Quixote on Rocinante and Sancho on his packsaddle on four stakes) while Ginés de Pasamonte flees away with Sancho's donkey (according to Sancho's explanation in chapter 4:2).
