Commentary In Sierra Morena, before Sancho leaves for El Toboso mounted on Rocinante to take to Dulcinea don Quixote's love letter, the knight makes some somersaults (love penance).
Accurate to Cervantes' text, Sancho holds a broom bunch.
Well-known scene since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657).
Drawing and engraving are very detailed and remarkable.
Notes 1 - Same plate first engraved for Paris: Didot L'Aîné-Deterville, 1799, now without frames. Also without frames in Paris: H. Nicolle, 1808.
2 - Wrongly placed in chapter 28:1.
