Commentary | Don Quixote attacking the puppets of Maese Pedro's theater; Sancho tries to stop him and Maese Pedro appears from behind the set (he should wear a patch); in the foreground, the boy, Maese Pedro's servant, who was telling the story.
Other figures observe the scene with astonishment and laughing. Scene resolved without too much originality. Very acceptable engraving. |

2 - Same plate also used for Glasgow: Robert & Andrew Foulis, 1771; it is the only signed plate in both editions. The other plates in the 1771 edition are not the same used now. |
